Do Good Project Week 17 : Beta Test
Beta Test (Test 5)
I held a beta test with 5 users to see the overall user experience and gather their responses. The purpose is to gather users' feedback on the user experience in terms of visual, audio, and flow of the light installation.
Here is the survey form.
User's Feedback
Insights
100% of the users understand the message brought by Melda is to express our own thoughts and embrace both negativity and positivity within our true selves.
100% of the users feel the light effects are impressive, comforting, and immersive.
50% of the users mention that there is some delay in the light changing.
50% of the users mention that the audio effect of Melda is too robotic. The echo feel of the audio makes it not clear when speaking which leads to confusion.
Initially, the timer is set to 60 seconds for the first narration. Users felt that is too long because they are not sure what to do in between. Thus, I've changed it to 30 seconds. However, users felt that it was too short. In short, I've adjusted to 40 seconds.
During the testing, I also realize the sensitivity is sensitive to certain pitches. For example, it's very sensitive when I and some of the users are interacting with. However, it's not detecting well when the user speaks too softly. I think this might due to the placement of the mic and the volume output from the user.
Audio Refinement
I have removed the delay effect of the narration so that it doesn't sound robotic anymore and it's much clearer compared to the previous ones.
Raw Short Clips
These are some short clips that look nice to me. These are just part of raw clips for documentation. I personally quite like the overall look and feel of it.
